Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Minimum Qualification: Graduation / Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or institute.
- Preferential weightage is given to candidates possessing an MBA in Marketing or a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration.
Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 21 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years
- OBC / SC / ST / LIC Employees: Age relaxations apply as per standard rules.
Selection Process
The selection process for Apprentice Development Officers consists of:
1. Preliminary Online Examination (For Open Market Category)
- Reasoning Ability: 35 Qs / 35 Marks / 20 mins
- Numerical Ability: 35 Qs / 35 Marks / 20 mins
- English Language (Qualifying): 30 Qs / 30 Marks / 20 mins
- Total: 100 Qs / 70 Marks (English marks are not counted for ranking) / 60 minutes.
2. Main Online Examination
- Coined differently for Open Market, LIC Agent, and LIC Employee categories.
- Open Market Pattern: Reasoning & Numerical (50 marks), English & GK (50 marks), Insurance & Financial Market Awareness (60 marks).
- Total: 160 Marks / 120 minutes.
3. Interview / Personality Test
- Interview Marks: 40 Marks.
Salary & Allowances
During the apprentice period, candidates receive a fixed stipend of ₹36,000 per month. Upon regular appointment as a Probationary Development Officer:
- Basic Pay: ₹35,650
- Total Emoluments (including DA, HRA, CCA, etc.): ~₹56,000 per month in Class 'A' cities.
- Performance-linked commission and incentives are also provided.

Yes. LIC agents get age relaxations up to 40 years (for general), and LIC employees get relaxations up to 42 years (for general).
